The last time danny came to me he proposed the unencrypted files + a huge string of lying to my staff + offering upgrades and future development stuff on the client with his contact that we otherwise would NOT be able to do i.e. skill changes, guild UI, etc. But the caveat was that only he and I could ever access the main server server and I was like 😭 But how can I audit it and he was like well you can check! I proposed a type of logging thing but then I realized he wouldn't be honest about it even if he did do it and I'd only find out on launch day when everything went ablaze and I already torched everything with our file manager. I couldn't do it. The path I'm taking is the safe one for this server even if it's the slower one 😭 I'd rather it be slower and more meaningful than die in a fiery blaze, especially on launch day
